In this short video, Dr. Kathleen M. Foley, a neurologist on Sloan-Kettering Pain and Palliative Care Service provides a sobering fact: about half of all cancer pain is not treated

 

In the current state of medical and pharmaceutical knowledge this is inexcusable.

    Eye-opening statistics to say the least… I suspect Big Pharma and the Health Insurance Apparatus play a huge role in the situation.
    Sad, very sad…

    Hi Laura, that might be part of it. I think another part of it is that cancer pain just isn’t a “sexy” area of research, similar to other end-of-life care issues. Very sad.
